Deerskin: Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Soft, porous leather: avoid contact with liquids. Nourish periodically with a cream for delicate leathers. Store in the dust bag provided.
Calfskin suede: Brush gently with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid contact with water and liquids. In case of stains, use a specific suede eraser. Store in the dust bag provided.
Zamak: Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemicals or abrasive products on the galvanic finish. Avoid prolonged contact with water and humidity.

Elif is the first letter of the Arabic and Turkish alphabet. It represents unity and the beginning. Elif Shafak carries that name and has made it a manifesto: to be one and multiple at the same time. A Turkish-British writer, born in Strasbourg to a diplomat mother, raised in Ankara by her grandmother, ignited in Istanbul, emigrated to London. She writes in Turkish and English because she believes you can dream in more than one language. Twenty-one books, translated into fifty-eight languages. In Turkey she was prosecuted for writing about the Armenian genocide in a novel. She never stopped writing. Shafak uses a metaphor from Rumi to describe herself: the drawing compass. One leg is fixed, rooted in a single spot. The other traces a huge circle around the first, in constant motion. "Inside my soul reside stories from the East and stories from the West, and I don't know exactly where the boundary lies." "I gave this bag the name of Elif Shafak," says Benedetta Bruzziches, "because it contains more worlds than it shows. You wear it by hand, on the shoulder, crossbody: the gesture changes but the bag stays the same. Like Shafak changes language but remains the same voice." Elif is for those who won't be reduced to a single version of themselves.
