Brass: Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Natural oxidation is part of the life of the material. To restore its shine, use a specific brass product. Store in a dry place.

"As long as I live, I will have control over my being." Artemisia Gentileschi was the first woman admitted to the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence, in 1616. She was twenty-three. She painted canvases larger than herself, scenes of biblical women with their hands in blood, in history, everyone's and their own. Judith seizes the sword, Susanna turns away, Cleopatra acts. None of her women was born to be a spectator. Artemisia is the steady hand, the wrist that controls the gesture, the control of someone who knows exactly where to place the colour. She learned early that talent is not enough, that space must be taken, and she took it. Canvas after canvas, commission after commission, city after city. Like Ariel and Armonia, a single block of polymethyl methacrylate sculpted and hand-polished. But where Ariel welcomes with soft curves, Artemisia challenges with sharp edges. In place of the stone, a claw.
